A class of 4rd du Mont des Accords will travel to Saint Lucia next May. The opportunity to highlight the heritage of Saint-Martin, but also to explore an island also endowed with beautiful riches.

Since last September, Juliane Guirouard-Aizee, English teacher, has been setting up a cultural project for a class of 4rd of the Mont des Accords college, with the collaboration of several colleagues. Its objective is to finance a trip to Saint Lucia so that its students meet those of Georges Charles Secondary School. “This exchange will allow my class to share the heritage of Saint-Martin. The students will thus become true ambassadors of the island, ”she emphasizes. To do this, they refined their knowledge, in particular by immersing themselves in the pages of Claude Maudoux's comic strip entitled "The Home of the Spirits".

Their English teacher then gave them a challenge: to produce a photo report of the different comic book sites. At the end of January, some students were also rewarded by a jury in a competition. “We had great productions in the form of video editing or slide shows. The students loved this research and especially the rediscovery of the island. Well prepared, they will be able to better transmit their knowledge, ”she indicates. The students also put together a video to introduce their school to their classmates in Saint Lucia. To finance this project, the class regularly organizes fundraising. The most recent took place on Sunday with a march from the college to Friar's Bay. The next one will take place on March 13 in front of Vanderpool Stadium.
