EDUCATION: School bullying at the heart of discussions at the “Café des Parents”

0

After a first edition organized last December on the themes of food, sleep and the use of screens, a new edition of the “Café des Parents” was held this Tuesday, February 1 at the Aline Hanson school with theme of the day: school bullying.

Nearly twenty parents of students from the Aline Hanson and Jérôme Beaupère schools took part in this information and discussion meeting in the presence of Mesdames Hilaire, social worker, Grellet, school nurse and Africa, operational project manager (Cité Educative ). Today's theme on "school bullying: identify, prevent and support" sparked rich exchanges between parents and the various partners present including Eugène Venthou-Dumaine, mobile academic security team member, Olivier Canale-Fatou, director of association “France Victimes” and Andy Armongon, project manager to the vice-rector and academic referent “Fight against school bullying”.

Bullying at school takes various forms: verbal, psychological, physical violence. Most often, harassment is hidden behind violence which accumulates to the point of creating a feeling of shame, persecution and isolation in the harassed student. It is a scourge that unfortunately strikes too many young students and adolescents every year, sometimes with dramatic consequences. Hence the importance for parents to practice prevention with their child(ren) and to listen to them. _AF
