EDUCATION – ENVIRONMENT: 58 children set off to discover Tintamarre

Like every year, the Métimer association organizes the "Sea Discovery Day", an educational day for the young generation of Saint-Martin to discover both the richness of the local fauna and flora and the nautical activities. It will be this Wednesday, November 16, 2022 on the island of Tintamarre.

With a new plan for a sea trip to observe whales next January, today's special Sea Discovery Day Tintamarre will welcome "only" 58 children, including 45 elementary school students from Sandy Ground and 13 middle school students from Quartier d'Orléans.

With a scheduled departure at 8:30 a.m. from Grand-Case, the children will head by boat to Tintamarre where the agents of the Saint-Martin Nature Reserve will introduce them to the islet and all its secrets by making them aware of biodiversity and the preservation of the environment. The young Saint-Martin residents will then participate in sports activities on the beach and in the water with their teachers: beach volleyball, football, paddle, kayaking, swimming, etc. With a budget of €6000 financed by the City Policy, Sea Discovery Day 2022 promises an unforgettable experience for the 58 children who will return to the territory around 16:30 p.m. _VX
