Education: Donation of masks, fins and snorkels to the students of Quartier d'Orléans

The freediving world record holder Stéphane Mifsud sailed solo across the Atlantic to come to the West Indies and raise awareness of environmental protection.

As part of its Blue Odyssey – Mission Antilles 2019 operation, it carried out various actions in Guadeloupe and Martinique in January and February 2019 then in Saint-Martin in March and early April 2019. Its objective was to come into contact with students. The National Education Service has thus developed a program so that it can carry out interventions in the classroom and in the field (during physical activities).

The sportsman and philanthropist who self-finances all his actions, had also brought in his sailboat more than a hundred masks, flippers and snorkels which were offered to the students of Saint-Martin. Michel Sanz, Inspector of Academy and DAASEN of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, presented this material to the students of the Aire Marine Éducative class of the Clair Saint-Maximin school in Quartier d'Orléans and to the USEP association The Orleans Tigers on April 9th.
