Demolition work on the sea inn started yesterday, Monday 26 November. The traders had been informed by a bailiff a few days earlier of the launch of the site. The Auberge de Mer is the subject of a decree (updated in mid-October) by the President of the Collectivity, carrying ordinary danger. Semsamar, which has the concession, was thus summoned "to carry out the demolition work on the entire Auberge de Mer building, within two months from the notification of the update of the decree".
For the moment, only the unoccupied parts are being demolished, while a security perimeter has been established by barriers. "We attack by the most degraded parts" explains Yannick Beaud, in charge of operations at Semsamar. In theory, the entire building should be destroyed by December 19, he tells us. However, we must first relocate the traders whose activity accelerates with the start of the tourist season. “Solutions are being studied. We do it day by day. Because there is human. But it is also our responsibility that the building does not collapse, ”continues the project manager.
The provisional solution, pending the rehabilitation of the marina, which the COM will take over in early 2019, is to install the traders in prefabricated car parks in the tourist office. “I am told about an 11 m2 Algéco. What am I going to do with this? Even if I make a terrace in the parking lot, there will be no roof to shelter people, ”laments a restaurateur.
For the time being, a few days before the deadline, nothing is yet installed and no solution has yet been implemented.
Most traders, brought together as a group, have retained a lawyer. The latter yesterday filed an interim order with the administrative court to suspend the work. They had a second opinion carried out at their expense, which corroborates their feeling: the structure of the building is in their opinion in good condition and its demolition does not seem justified to them.
They call for a mobilization Wednesday November 28 at eight in the morning in front of the sea inn, so that the population supports them in their fight.
