Economy (Northern Islands): An exceptional assistance system for the restart of disaster-stricken businesses

The Government has decided to create exceptional aid for restarting businesses affected by cyclone Irma during the period from September 5 to 7, 2017. This aid aims to support commercial, artisanal, industrial and service businesses whose critical situation threatens their sustainability despite the accompanying measures that have been implemented. This aid is not intended to replace other public and insurance systems but to supplement them if necessary.

1 - Eligibility

Companies up to date with their tax and social contributions, registered in the trade and company register, in the directory of trades and crafts, or in the register of health professionals whose turnover does not exceed 1 million are eligible. euros and which have suffered such damage that normal activity could not resume on September 16 due to: - unsanitary or inaccessible premises;

- destruction or damage to means of production;

- destruction or damage to stocks of supplies or products.

2- Amount of aid

Three non-cumulative amounts of aid can be granted in the form of a grant:

- 1 euros can be allocated to any type of business;

- 5 or 000 euros, depending on the amount of damage, can be granted to companies which guarantee the continued employment of their employees thanks to the partial unemployment scheme allowing 10% coverage of wages at the level of the SMiC .

3- Procedure for submitting files

The files, with the attachments necessary for the processing of requests, may be transmitted by electronic means to the following address: t101014@dgfip.finances.gouv.fr.

They can also be deposited:

- in Saint-Martin, at the Public Finances Department: 8 rue Jean-Jacques Fayel (Concordia) from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 12 noon.

- in Saint-Barthélemy, at the Multi-professional Economic Chamber: 10, rue du roi Oscar II (Gustavia) from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and between 13 p.m. and 16:30 p.m.

4- End of the device

This assistance scheme will end on December 1, 2017.
