Should we write Gibbs or Gibbes?

0

Since his election to the Collectivity, the president signs all official documents "Daniel Gibbes", Gibbes with an "e". A spelling that surprises since so far, everyone has seen and written Gibbs without e. So do you need an e or not?

Officially yes because Gibbes with an e is the name which appears on the registers of the civil status. When registering an error was made, that of adding the e. On all official documents must thus appear his surname as registered in the civil status. Thus in the National Assembly, Daniel Gibbes is referenced with an e. That today as president of the Community, he must sign Gibbes.

However, his usual name has always been Gibbs, the real name of his family, of his father. (Source: www.soualigapost.com)
