Road crime, narcotics seizures: the Dutch police on all fronts

As part of the actions carried out by the police forces of Sint Maarten to curb criminal activities, numerous checks were organized at different places on the island on September 19 and 20, including at the exit of schools.

Indeed, a student who was hanging around a school was asked to leave the premises and go home. However, the 15-year-old student refused and started behaving badly in front of the police, even insulting and threatening them.

The police decided to arrest the teenager who violently resisted his arrest. The latter was transferred to the Philipsburg police station and handed over to the Department of Youth and Morals.

During another check, an individual was arrested for possession of narcotics. While law enforcement detained the first suspect, a second man attempted to obstruct the police operation and was also arrested. The two suspects were then transferred to the police station for custody.

Later that evening, another person was arrested in the Cole Bay area for drug trafficking.

Otherwise, the police were very firm against several totally unconscious young people on their two-wheelers (motorcycle and scooter).

Law enforcement reminds parents and guardians that motorcyclists must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license to ride on public roads. On good terms… _AF
