The prefecture organized last Thursday a naturalization ceremony in its premises, in Marigot, in the presence of deputy Daniel Gibbs and senator Guillaume Arnell. During this solemn event chaired by the prefect Anne Laubies, 47 people obtained French nationality, coming from a dozen countries. On this occasion, the charter of rights and duties of the French citizen was given to them. French nationality certificate in hand, these people can thus carry out several steps: request for an identity card and a passport, and registration on the electoral lists. French nationality was granted to 113.608 people in 2015, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior. _EH
