Christiane '' Chris '' Ladéon, author and Martinican painter living in Saint-Martin for more than 20 years, expresses through her art her long suffering and her quest for cure with Endometriosis, a very rare orphan disease. in front of a book recounting his experience with his illness which manifests itself in excruciating pain. In 2015, she started taking painting lessons and very quickly realized that she was unconsciously painting scenes from her book.

Her paintings, done in watercolor, are for her "a real therapy that soothes and helps to forget the pain" which "leaves the door open to the expression of all my emotions, my thoughts and above all contributes fully to my fulfillment" . For her, painting with watercolors is “a haven of peace, a refuge”.

She draws her inspiration from the “sea, where I am in my element: the morning light, the blue water of the Caribbean of unique and breathtaking beauty, power and nature, so generous, so fragile and strong to at the same time ”, as evidenced by his paintings which express both inner discomfort, with the dark colors, and hope, with the bright colors which bring out the light which is perfectly balanced in the shadows.

"In each of my paintings, I want to convey an impression of peace and tranquility, all of this in order to touch all the people who take the time to contemplate them," she says. "For me, painting is a real cry for Life, for Love ...".
