The overseas senatorial delegation chaired by Michel Magras, senator from Saint-Barthélemy, produced an information report on "Major natural risks / Emergency declared overseas" * following the passage of Irma. It addresses the problem of the means put in place to prevent populations, specifically the alert and information system for populations (SAIP).
The deployment of sirens in the Antilles - "the most tsunamigene territories on a national scale" and where "the main issue is located" - would represent a cost of less than a million euros, reports the senatorial delegation. The overseas ministry told him that it was planned to install fifteen sirens in the West Indies in 2019. The investment is estimated at 800 euros. The places of installation are however not mentioned. (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
