Younger brother of the popular Nathan Edward, Jathan is an aspiring pitcher and an outstanding batsman. He was selected for the U15 squad after appearing in two practice matches in Antigua over the past weekend.

During the two practice matches in Antigua, Edward thanks to his unique style recovered a total of six wickets. The youngster has shown in these practice matches that he has the discipline and control to master his subject. His unique talent was spotted and appreciated by coaches during practice matches. Which earned him his selection.

St Maarten Cricket Chairman Dwayne Elgin welcomed the selection of his young prodigy. “St Maarten continues to send quality youngsters into the West Indies youth teams. I wrote him a message to tell him to take this opportunity as a rare opportunity and that he strives to do his best so that he can be proud, ”concluded Dwayne Elgin.

At just 12 years old, Jathan should have a bright future in cricket. Like his brother, he was introduced to cricket through the Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket program at Leonard Connor Primary School in Cole Bay. The young teenager was part of his primary school's squad for the Inter-School Kiddy Cricket Tournament from the age of eight.
