0

For the week of March 8 to 14 (week 10), data stopped on March 16, there are 21 new cases in the territory of Saint-Martin against 28 the week before. Taking into account the consolidated data from previous weeks, this brings to 1 the number of cumulative cases of coronavirus confirmed in the territory.

From March 8 to 14, 8 new cases of the 20I / 501Y.V1 variant (English variant) of SARSCoV2 were detected in Saint-Martin, which represents 38% of new infections. Since Monday March 15 (current week 11), 4 new cases of Covid have been recorded out of 224 analyzes carried out.

As of March 17, 1 confirmed Covid patient was hospitalized in the medical department of the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital. Two medical evacuations of COVID patients were carried out, to Guadeloupe, in intensive care between March 8 and 14.

Pursue collective efforts ...

Epidemiological indicators show a slight decrease in the number of cases, but nevertheless confirm that the virus continues to circulate actively in the territory.

• The weekly incidence rate, still above the alert threshold, is down compared to last week and stands at 59/100 000 inhabitants from March 8 to 14 against 78/100 000 inhabitants the previous week.

• The weekly positivity rate, 2,9%, is also down compared to last week (against 3,9% the week before) and remains below the vigilance threshold.

As of March 16, there is no active cluster in the territory.

The drive set up in Marigot (behind the Mac Donald) remains open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. It gives priority to contact cases as well as to people needing to be hospitalized in Saint-Martin or elsewhere.

• The drive carried by the red cross, accessible at Hope Estate, is reserved for travelers and tourists staying on the French side. It offers PCR tests in the morning, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. then antigenic tests from 11:30 a.m. to 14 p.m. and on Saturdays from 00 a.m. to 8 p.m. for PCR and antigen tests.

The PCR test sampling capacity for Saint-Martin this week is 150 per day for the two drives (Marigot and Hope Estate).

During the Easter holidays, the Institut Pasteur de Guadeloupe, which processes the PCR tests carried out in Saint-Martin, will be closed on Friday April 2 (Good Friday) as well as Sunday 4 and Monday 5 (Easter Sunday and Monday).

The Marigot drive (located behind Mac-Donald) as well as the Red Cross drive (at Hope Estate) will therefore be closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Everyone is called upon to organize themselves accordingly. Contact cases and / or people needing hospitalization are invited to contact the Laboratoire Bio Pôle Antilles on 05 90 77 68 88.
