It had been in the pipes for several weeks and it is now official! The Prefect, Serge Gouteyron has decided to introduce the health pass in Saint-Martin from this Friday, October 22.

The improvement in the health situation observed in recent weeks in Saint-Martin still requires special attention since 4 people are hospitalized at Louis Constant Fleming hospital today.

In addition, the low vaccination rate of the population makes it necessary to maintain measures to control the spread of the virus. Indeed, the risk of developing a serious form remains very present and our health system cannot cope alone with a wave of contamination.

In order to prepare for the 2021/2022 tourist season with a satisfactory level of health security, the Prefect of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, after consultation with the Collectivity of Saint-Martin and socio-professionals (Tourism Club, CCISM, Metimer, MEDEF), decided to set up the health pass in Saint-Martin. Sint Maarten having also chosen to establish an identical system, the application of the pass allows a standardization of the protocols on the whole of the territory.

The health pass will be deployed from this Friday, October 22 in bars, restaurants and for all public events. Only establishments and events that host more than 30 people will be affected.

The health pass will only be required for adults.

From Friday, October 22, anyone wishing to go to a bar or a restaurant must be able to present their vaccination certificate, or failing that, a PCR or antigen test of less than 72 hours or a certificate of recovery from Covid -19.

The establishments which will set up the health pass will be able to derogate from the rules related to Covid-19, so the operator will be able, on his initiative:

• lifting the wearing of a mask in the establishment;
