Covid-19: Eighteen confirmed cases in Guadeloupe

0

Guadeloupe had 18 confirmed cases of Covid-19 yesterday at noon, 13 more than Sunday, ARS said in a statement.

Two patients are hospitalized at the CHU: one in the service of infectious and tropical diseases, the other in the intensive care unit. The investigation conducted by ARS and Public Health France is continuing to identify the routes of COVID-19 confirmed persons.

Contact persons are called on the phone by the dedicated ARS team to inform them, indicate the procedure to be followed (maintenance in isolation + monitoring of their state of health), and specify the methods of treatment in case of onset of symptoms.

The epidemic threshold of 10 confirmed cases / 100 inhabitants could be reached in the coming days. This threshold, evaluated at around forty cases for our region, will modify the screening and care strategy for people.

A follow-up committee in the presence of the prefect, the director general of the ARS and the rector is to be held today in order to take stock of the implementation of crisis management in phase 3.

Decisions on the screening and management strategy will be ratified on this occasion.
