Covid-19: 62 active cases identified in part of France

0

The latest health bulletin from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) dated November 16 to 22 reports 26 new positive cases recorded. This brings to 62 the total number of active cases identified in the French part.

The Louis-Constant Fleming hospital remains very mobilized for the management of the crisis. As of November 22, 1 confirmed Covid-19 patient is hospitalized in the medical department (with a peak of 7 hospitalizations on November 16). Two medical evacuations of Covid patients were carried out to Guadeloupe from November 16 to 22. The death of an inhabitant of Saint Barthélemy is to be deplored.

The antigenic drive now located at Hope Estate

In addition, 256 additional tests were carried out in the laboratory and at the hospital from November 16 to 22, with a total number of 7 tests recorded since the start of the epidemic.

Drive activity continues at the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital, making it possible to offer a PCR screening offer which must remain the benchmark test.

The antigenic drive (formerly at Friars Bay and now at Hope Estate) is fully operational (as a reminder: open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 16 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

The weekly incidence rate in Saint-Martin remains above the alert threshold with a rate of 72.74 / 100 inhabitants, although it should be noted that it has declined slightly compared to the previous week (000 / 95,12 inhabitants in Week 100)

Otherwise, the positivity rate over the past week decreases compared to the previous week, but remains above the alert threshold: 10,2% in W47 (vs 13,80% in Week 46)

These two indicators thus confirm a still very active circulation in the territory, with “sawtooth” dynamics which call for caution all the more. We absolutely have to be extra vigilant, knowing that the highest incidence rate concerns 15-44 year olds (133,6 / 100 inhabitants).

The level of vulnerability always corresponds to “high” vulnerability. This situation is worrying as the tourist season has begun. We must strengthen the early detection of positive cases, make contact tracing, enforce isolation when necessary to avoid the installation of transmission chains and the development of sources of contamination. The virus is transmitted very often in the private sphere (family events) or the professional sphere (at your workplace).

As of November 24, 1 cluster is under investigation in schools, which for the moment remains of limited criticality. _AF
