Letters from readers: Stop incivility on the Sea Front!

8

We take the same and start again for the new year!

Camelots by the seaside in Marigot continue to systematically throw away all their waste, packaging bags, coat racks, meal packaging, which all end up at sea and some of them in the stomachs of turtles. I alerted the community to these incivilities and they told me that they would remind offenders of the law!

Obviously, it was not done and as we can see in the attached photos, people are now draining their gearbox by letting the oil spill on the sidewalk. Where are we going ?

It is a deplorable image of Saint Martin that we have there and I am sure that tourists will want to return to the "Friendly Island" by seeing these pictures.

Many of us talk about it and are more and more dismayed by this spectacle of desolation. When will the competent authorities react quickly? _R.G.

Garbage cans and trash on the backwater market. It is unfortunately not new, but all the time that there will be this Thieves and Dirty Market this problem will exist.
This market should be closed, which only brings nuisance from all points of view.
Tourists are attacked there regularly and the association of the backwater market, only amplifies this major health problem.
The Collectivity is well aware of this problem, but for 2 Saint Martines from the economic development center to keep their jobs, everyone turns a blind eye to the filth from the backwater market.
MR Carvigant and MME Hodge should be on the market instead of being air conditioned in their offices.
You don't control a market in an office.
As for the 3 market controllers, only one does its job. The other 2 spend their time in restaurants or hitting on illegals working on the market.
A good sweep and a final closure will solve the problem.
Thank you for placing this ad.

Madame Sobodker Viky, thieves market ??? While you are running a business there? Does that mean that you conned the tourists with your so-called “garnets” extracted from the quarry of Friar's Bay which does not exist? This is where the COM should put its nose, so that people like you stop tarnishing the image of our beautiful island!
On the other hand, you have contributed well to defiling this place! You'd better avoid those inappropriate comments and learn to express yourself properly. So take a few spelling lessons before giving them to others!

    Response to Jean Claude Clery:
I am happy to have an answer, Mrs. Sobodker Viky does not have a stand on the Marigot Market.
Garnet of Saint Martin is a registered trademark at the INPI. And as you know, market traders from

Lol she doesn't have a stand… but on the other hand she worked there every day… well before IRMA ,,, after her insulting borderline remarks, isn't she able to answer himself to Mr. CLERY?

Madame Hodge Patricia and Monsieur Carvigant Hubert,
Subject: Breach of the lease contract
I have told you many times:
If the Collectivity of Saint-Martin does not authorize video surveillance in my store lot N * 30 Boulevard de France in Saint-Martin.
Despite the authorization for 5 renewable years of the Prefect of Saint-Martin who accepted this authorization as the French Law allows on the Safety of Goods and People.
By this refusal, The Republican Law was violated by the Collectivity of Saint-Martin!
Thanks to IRMA, We have seen since September 6, 2017 that the State of FRANCE is indeed the Master of these places!
Despite the words of the members of the Economic Development Pole Council who tell me in my face: (Saint-Martin, this is not FRANCE)!
The Law of the Marigot Market Place is not the same for all exhibitors …….
I can only sell Jewelry, while all other sellers can sell anything and everything….
I am the only one to bring many American tourists to the Marigot Market Place.
I give you in this RAR letter, the keys to the store.
Please permanently remove me from the Marigot Market.
After 22 years of development services on the island, it is a breach of the lease contract.
    cordially
    Joël HUSSON for STe OCTAEDRE
Open letter to be delivered to:
MR. The President of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, MR. Daniel GIBBS, because he is not aware of the problems at Marigot Market Place
    Saint Martin, February 1, 2018

This Mr Jean Claude Clery talks about the backwater market but he has no business on this market.
If he represents the market association for his writings, because these have intellectual weaknesses in French, let him say so, the writer!
I am on the Marigot Market and I know everyone there.
This is not how we will save the Market.
