0

At the start of the territorial council's meeting yesterday morning, the president, Daniel Gibbs proposed to the elected officials to hold a general committee at the end of the session to discuss the reopening of Princess Juliana airport to international flights from July 2, and consequences of this reopening on the health situation of the island.

At the end of this general commission, the elected officials decided not to depart from the national rules in force. In other words, not to accept the opening of flights from the USA. A decision also taken by France and the European Union.

A letter co-signed by President Gibbs on behalf of the territorial elected representatives, and by the President of the CESC, was drawn up to this effect at the end of the closed session and addressed to the prefect who had asked the Collectif whether Ci wished to obtain an exceptional exemption to allow American tourists to go to the French side.
