Juliana Airport: All commercial flights to and from the United States postponed by 15 days!

Ludmila de Weever, Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications (TEATT), said yesterday afternoon that the government had taken this decision mainly due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the United States. United since last Friday.

She also clarified that there was a risk of closing the internal border of Saint-Martin, because the leaders of the French side "strongly suggested" to close the border on the Dutch side if flights from the United States were cleared to land at Princess Juliana International Airport.

"It is likely that the position of elected officials from the French side was influenced by the decision of the European Union to keep its borders with the United States closed," said the Minister.

Only international flights to and from Europe will therefore gradually resume from July 2 in Juliana!

As a reminder, passengers arriving in Sint Maarten will be allowed to stay on Dutch soil on the one and only condition to present a negative PCR test carried out 72 hours before their journey (the test results must not exceed 72 hours before the journey) .

Note also that access to the terminal will only be allowed to travelers and airport staff, wearing a mask is mandatory.
