A mobile constable was deliberately hit, last Monday, in the exercise of his duties, by the driver of a scooter. The soldier suffers from a fibula fracture.
The facts took place on Monday afternoon, around 15:15 p.m., as part of a mundane traffic control operation, near the high school. While the gendarme made a sign to the pilot, who was traveling in the direction of Marigot, to stop, the latter, refusing control, then rushed at the soldier, seriously injuring his leg. Firefighters and a large body of law enforcement quickly arrived on the scene. Seriously affected and shocked, the victim was immediately taken to hospital. The soldier suffers from a fibula fracture. As for the perpetrator, he is a minor aged 17 years in violation (uninsured and not wearing a helmet). The latter was placed in police custody for refusing to comply and aggravated violence against an agent of the police. He risks at most a prison sentence in a closed educational center for minors._AF

“I learned with amazement, last night, the circumstances of the accident suffered by a gendarme on duty, rue de Spring in Concordia. Know that I condemn with the greatest firmness the attitude of the scooter driver, who refused to comply despite the order of the police, and who carried out a dangerous maneuver, hitting the gendarme head-on. The investigation is now in the hands of justice, and I hope that all light is shed on the circumstances of this accident. The consequences could have been much more serious, but fortunately, the injured person is in good hands at the Marigot hospital. ”
