EEASM/SAUR PRESS RELEASE: Works at the drinking water production plant

0

The Saint-Martin Water and Sanitation Establishment in conjunction with  SAUR Saint-Martin is currently carrying out rehabilitation and securing work on 2 Reverse Osmosis production lines out of the 3 lines currently in operation at the Galisbay Drinking Water Production Plant.

This work began in October 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in early November 2023.

This work requires supplies of specific materials from mainland France. These supplies have been strongly impacted by the current social movement but are confirmed on arrival for Saint-Martin at the end of May 2023.

In addition, water consumption on Saint-Martin has been constantly increasing for several months, hampering the ability to replenish drinking water stocks, as water production is largely used to meet demand.

The work phase, which will start in June 2023, will require the occasional stoppage of the production of drinking water over weekly 24-hour slots.

In addition, an additional mobile water treatment unit will be set up at the beginning of June 2023, for the entire duration of the works, in order to compensate for the production deficit during these works and to meet the needs of users.

In addition, the Water and Sanitation Establishment of Saint-Martin, still in conjunction with SAUR Saint-Martin, is currently studying the increase in the means of production capacity of the Plant for commissioning at the end of 2024.

The EEASM and SAUR Martin apologize for the current disturbances on the Eau Potable distribution network and remain attentive to subscribers.
