Road traffic: Part of the retaining wall collapses

The heavy rains of recent days have caused the collapse of part of the retaining wall which is located in the Colombier ravine, along the RN7 at Cripple Gate. Work is currently underway, with the objective of strengthening the embankment in a sustainable manner.

During the diagnostic studies, structural disorders had been identified by the Community's design office, the latter indicates. The contractor, STA SOGETRAS, carried out interventions to secure the site as quickly as possible and allow the work to continue. Thus, last Wednesday and Thursday, the company proceeded with the reinforcement of road signaling and fence devices, the release of the safety barrier and scattered materials collapsed to avoid the risk of ice jams, but also the provisional reinforcement of the slope using shotcrete, to avoid any risk of additional collapse. _RM
