CCI elections are currently taking place throughout France, here in Saint-Martin they are taking place today. This is a list system, business leaders from the French side are thus invited to elect their colleagues who will represent them and support them for the next five years. This year, only one list is a candidate locally, Entreprendre Ensemble led by Angèle Dormoy, the outgoing president.
The candidate list includes 21 names including 15 from the commerce-industry college, 5 from the trades-crafts college and 1 from the agriculture college as well as three substitutes. This distribution was made in a proportional manner in order to correspond to the economic reality of the territory. "We took into account three indicators: the number of establishments per sector, the number of salaried employees and the amount of licenses declared", explains Julien Bataille, the general manager of the CCISM.
All legal representatives of companies registered in the CCISM register can vote on this day. They are obliged to physically vote on their way to the Maison des Entreprises in Concordia.
