Saint-Barthélemy will be the capital of rum for the second edition of the Caribbean Rum Awards which will take place from 6 to 9 November next. This event, which will celebrate the region's high-end rums, will be held at the same time as the 6rd edition of the Saint-Barth Gourmet Festival, an important culinary event.
For the second edition of the Caribbean Rum Awards, the organizers chose the island of Saint-Barthélemy, considered the gastronomic capital of the Caribbean, so that the jury could taste and reward the best rums in the region.
This four-day event will begin on November 6 at noon, with a panel of local and global rum experts, who will organize blind tastings of eight different categories of rum. On this occasion, the jury will choose the winners of the Caribbean Rum Awards 2019.
On Thursday 7 November, still at 12 noon, a rum exhibition will allow customers to explore the Caribbean "in a glass", with the participation of major rum producers who will be at their disposal to make them taste their best productions. Friday's entertainment will be more friendly and informal. Thus, the Ti'Punch Hour will celebrate the most famous cocktail of the French Caribbean, with a selection of different white rums from the region.
The event will end on Saturday evening, starting at 20:00 p.m., with a VIP dinner that will match food and wine, as well as cigars and rum. This dinner will be hosted by Andrew Zarzosa of Yuzu Miami Restaurant, and the Quarter Kitchen & Cocktail Lab in Gustavia will host this meal. The evening will continue at the Rhum Room, the largest rum bar in the Caribbean with more than 700 references, where it will be possible to taste the best rums and discover the winners of the Caribbean Rum Awards 2019.
