“Caribbean Climate 2015”: report on the president's trip

The president of the Community Aline Hanson recently participated in the "Caribbean Climate 2015" conference in Martinique, in the presence of the President of the Republic François Hollande. The opportunity to show that Saint-Martin is not lagging behind. 

The Collectivity explains that in the preamble to her speech, the president stated "the concrete mitigation measures taken in Saint-Martin in terms of energy saving, like the installation of photovoltaic panels on buildings public, the renewal of public lighting and the use of LED bulbs, the installation of columns and selective sorting bins for the treatment and recovery of waste, and the partnership initiated in terms of sanitation with the neighbor Sint Maarten in the context of projects funded by Europe ”. Ms Hanson also mentioned the proliferation of Sargassum algae, and the need to set up joint cleaning solutions, underlines the COM. Concerning the prevention against natural risks, the president encouraged the creation of a tide gauge station, equipped with solar panels, aiming to prevent the risks of tsunami.
