The prefect settled on March 15 the 2018 budget of the Interprofessional Chamber of Saint Martin (CCISM) with an imbalance of some 1,1 million euros.
Pending the presentation of a balanced administrative account, the Territorial Chamber of Accounts (CTC) asked the CCISM not to spend more than its revenues, those in the operating section amounting to 705 euros and those in investment at 000 euros.
The territorial chamber of accounts has also invited the COM to increase its own subsidy to the CCISM. The COM may also decide to increase the tax levied on businesses to partially finance the CCISM.
These two measures are not mandatory for the COM, the CTC cannot compel it even if it strongly recommends it.
If the COM does not increase its allocation, the CCISM will have to reduce its operating mode and adapt it to its revenues.
