Last Saturday was held at "Emilio Wilson Recreation park" in Sint Maarten the 1st inter-island English Boxing showdown since 2019.
The SXM Team bringing together the clubs of Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin with ABC Inter Sport and Orléans Boxing Club organized this sporting event which turned out to be positive in all points for the boxers and the large number of spectators.
Apart from Saint Martin, the participating countries came from the islands of Curaçao, Dominica, Anguilla, Aruba, St Lucia, and a representative from the USA.
Although the confrontations were interesting and intense, the majority of them were first set-ups apart from the last fight for the Saint Martin belt. He pitted Dwinley Matilda 74kg from Curaçao against Malcom Philipps 74kg from Sint Maarten. Superb fight of great technicality of 3 rounds of 3 minutes which was won by our island partner coached by Shawn BLAIR.
Philippe ARRENDEL and Leonardo INCARDONA and Shawn BLAIR were the co-organizers of this event which will be repeated next February.
