Baie Rouge: The Terres Basses association confirms the court decision to demolish restaurants

Following comments made by the collective Soualiga United, Louis Mussington and the Movement for Justice and Prosperity (MJP) last week about the demolition of the restaurant Chez Raymond on the beach of Baie Rouge, the owners association of Terres Basses confirms that the demolition of the establishment was ordered by justice.

“The interim order of May 29, 2018 pronounced by the tribunal de grande instance of Basse Terre orders Augustin Arrondell and Louis Raymond Mussington to demolish all the constructions constructed […] and to remove them at their exclusive cost, within a period of one month from the service of the order ”, declares the association. The order was served on the two operators by a bailiff on June 12, knowing that even if they appeal the decision, it must still be executed, the appeal is not suspensive.

Finally, the association recalls that "on June 11, 1969 the French government of the time (Charles de Gaulle) had ceded the beaches (the 50 geometric steps) of Terres Basses to the promoter-founder of the subdivision on condition". And to specify that these beaches should be "free" and accessible by everyone, "unconstructable and without commercial activity". (Source: www.soualigapost.com)
