The Coat opens a thrift store

Buying clothes, childcare equipment, furniture or dishes at very low prices is now possible in Saint-Martin. Inspired among other things by the Emmaus model, the Manteau opened a solidarity thrift store one month ago, intended not only for its 465 users but also for the general public. “The first objective of this project was to set up reintegration workshops,” says director Audrey Gil. It is the users who sort, sew or repair the clothes, furniture and objects donated by the population, while a lady housed by the center is trained in sales. Located rue du Fort Louis, the boutique is open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and on Fridays from 14 to 17 p.m.
