Following the passage of hurricanes IRMA and MARIA, companies offer to help the victims in their efforts to report the damage they have suffered, obtain financial aid and assist them in the reconstruction.
The Competition, Consumption, Fraud Repression and Metrology Department of the DIECCTE calls on everyone to be very vigilant. These companies are not mandated by the state. They intervene for a fee and must inform the consumer beforehand of the cost of their service. In addition, they cannot use the logo of the French Republic in order to give an official character to their activity. Controls are currently underway and violations of the provisions of the consumer code have been identified. _AF
