LOCAL CRAFTS: Fourth edition of the Quartier d'Orléans cultural market

0

Craftsmanship will be in focus on Friday July 22, Saturday July 23 and Sunday July 24 from 14 p.m. to 19 p.m. in Quartier d'Orléans. Eléa Menta, co-founder of the cultural market, invites children and adults to share her passion for agriculture and local clothing.

Cupcake, fresh and local fruit juices, seafood, vegetarian and vegan food, fresh vegetables, pastries and cakes, sweets, pies, homemade honey, pizzas, handmade soap, jewelry and artistic creations.es, there will be more than a dozen stands at the cultural and craft market in Quartier d'Orléans. Many activities for children will also be offered with a focus on agriculture. A graduate in agronomy, Eléa lived a childhood rocked by the cultivation of the soil. Agriculture and the development of ecosystems are a real passion for the young woman and her two brothers, self-taught artisans who organize the cultural market with her. On her return from her studies, Eléa was struck by the lack of local agricultural production. Backed by her experience in Martinique, she decided, last April, to create and launch her first local market, 100% artisanal, in Quartier d'Orléans. Market intended to educate young people on food production methods, Eléa will devote Friday to teaching them how to plant, to know local plants, to recycle by using and replanting rotten vegetables, thus sharing her knowledge as an agronomic technician with Saint-Martin youth. Curious adults are also concerned by these enriching workshops. The cultural market of Quartier d'Orléans not only allows the population to discover local craftsmen but there is also an educational dimension which now contributes to the identity of this market which is signing its fourth edition here. Children can also have fun on the mini-golf course built with students from Quartier d'Orléans. A shuttle bus will leave Marigot and Orient Bay every hour from 13:30 p.m. to the site of the market to be held at 11 impasse Mont Saline in Quartier d'Orléans (entrance after the football field, next to Lake's and Dails). The Eléa Menta cultural market is a family affair, it brings the community together in sharing and solidarity, celebrating the pool of talent found in Quartier d'Orléans. _VX
