LOCAL CRAFTS: The Quartier d'Orléans cultural market continues to attract people

0

After a strong comeback in July, the Quartier d'Orléans cultural market is increasingly establishing itself as one of the craft markets not to be missed. On August 13 and 14, the market again welcomed a large audience of curious people and connoisseurs of good products.

The editions follow one another but are not alike, always leaving the public with new surprises or local products of which the craftsmen present have the secret. For this August edition, several ducklings greeted the entry of each newcomer. The organizers of the Quartier d'Orléans cultural market work hard to highlight their products, their creations and their know-how: fresh vegetables, aromatic plants, fresh and local fruit juices, seafood, vegetarian and vegan food, candied of coconut or sweet potato, homemade caramels, Linda sweets, local honey, pies, jewels and soaps in a cupcake version. Not to mention the entertainment for children with the mini-golf course and the bowling alley. Eléa and her brother Obadiah, whose father and niece also run a stand, are delighted with the enthusiasm generated by their craft market. A graduate in agronomy, Eléa passes on her passion for plants and their traditional secrets when Obadiah, a self-taught craftsman who built his pizza oven with recycled bricks, concocts a vegetarian pizza whose smell instantly awakens your taste buds. For even greater accessibility, several signs indicating the location of the market have been placed at strategic locations in Quartier d'Orléans. After the visit of the second vice-president of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, Bernadette Davis, this time it was Frantz Gumbs, deputy of Saint Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, who went to meet the organizers and artisans. He took the time to discuss with the people present, going to each stand. Nice nod from the officials who support citizen initiatives like the one launched by Eléa and her family. _VX
