Army: Five West Indians recruited by the French Navy

0

After signing their engagement for a year volunteering in the French Navy, four young Guadeloupeans and a Martinique have recently undergone training in their future seafaring profession.

On the program for these three weeks: seamanship instruction, maneuver and navigation instruction, firefighting and small caliber shooting in particular. Commander Jean-Marc Cantala - commander of the naval base, officially presented them with their final training diploma. Dylan, Thomas-Alexandre, Audric, Dylan and Kevin will now rejoin their first posting: either one of the flight units of the armed forces in the West Indies (the Ventôse or Germinal surveillance frigates, the Dumont d'Urville light transport vessel, or the coastal port tug Maïto) or the naval base. Good winds and good seas to these five new sailors! _AF
