SILVER: 5,7 million tickets transferred to the Northern Islands

5,7 million tickets worth 181,1 million euros were transferred from Guadeloupe to the northern islands. This is worth 26,4 million less than in 2019.

“This drop comes in readjustment of a particularly high level of entries in 2019. Other factors also weigh on this development, in particular the brake on economic activity imposed by the health crisis”, explains Iedom. Conversely, nearly 171,1 million euros were taken out of the northern islands and sent back to Guadeloupe.

In Saint-Martin, the amount of banknotes transferred decreased by 12,1% in 2020 after having quadrupled a year earlier. It amounts to 137 million euros against 155,8 million the year before, specifies the Iedom.

Regarding coins, 700 were transferred in 000 from Guadeloupe to the northern islands, for a value of some 2020 euros, compared to 159 coins in 000. However, no coins were returned. (
