Call to demonstrate today at 7:30 am for the lifting of border controls

A call for mobilization on both sides of the island was launched yesterday, after the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the prefecture announced at a joint press conference last Monday that border controls would be maintained until October 1. The meeting is set this morning at 7:30 am at the Bellevue roundabout in the French part and at the Causeway Bridge roundabout (Cole Bay) on the Dutch side.

“We would like every man, woman and child of Saint Martin to come to show the whole world what the Unity of this island means. We cannot and will not allow this one place we call home and its inhabitants to be after 300 years divided by anyone. We hope to see Daniel Gibbs and Silveria Jacobs, the leaders of this island, with all the elected officials and all those who have made SXM their home on either side of the island, ”the post wrote.
