Educational marine area: an eco-citizen project carried by a class of CM1

"An educational marine area (AME) is a small coastal sea area managed in a participatory manner by the students" defines Daniela, president of the AME du Galion. Student in CM1 at the Clair Saint-Maximin school in Quartier d ' Orleans, she presented with her comrades, under the supervision of their mistress Jessica Sabas, the balance of the observations of the class, in the deliberative room of the territorial council Thursday May 3 for their very first Council of the Sea.  

Born in the Marquesas Islands in 2012, the AME principle was deployed throughout France in 2017-2018. In Saint-Martin, this eco-citizen educational project concerns the Galion site, registered in June 2017. The 17 students in the CM1 class are required to carry out field studies and seek the expertise not only of the school , but also environmental professionals. At the end of each part of their presentation, the students asked a question to the professionals who had come to listen to them: Michel Sanz, IA-DAASEN, Pascal-Alix Laborde, from the environment department of the COM, Franck Roncuzzi Head of the "Police de Nature, administration and logistics of the Nature Reserve, Vincent Oliva in charge of the environmental education pole at the Nature Reserve, Jean-Luc Elice and Evelyne Doressamy, project managers in the service of education, respectively for Sciences and 'EEDD (Education for the environment and sustainable development), and digital.
