The so-called "Grand-Case lounge" case was examined by the administrative court last Friday at the Palais de Justice in Marigot.
Eight companies operating an establishment on the beach of Grand-Case had seized the justice to ask the outright cancellation of the deliberation taken by the Executive Council dated November 17, 2015, aiming to prohibit the deckchairs on the beach.
The standoff between the Collectivity and the restaurateurs could well turn to the advantage of the last named. Indeed, the public rapporteur asked for the decision of the executive council of November 17, 2015 to be annulled on the grounds that he was not competent to take this type of decision.
Generally, the administrative court follows the decision of the public rapporteur.
The judgment has been reserved and will be issued on June 24. _AF
