Reception in nationality: Delivery of naturalization decree to the prefecture

0

Last Tuesday afternoon, 14 “new” French people and their families gathered in the premises of the prefecture to receive their naturalization decree. A welcoming ceremony in the nationality which is, as usual, always marked with solemnity.

In the absence of the prefect Sylvie Feucher, the sub-prefect Michaël Doré, secretary general of the prefecture of the northern islands, opened the proceedings.

Addressed to the audience, the State representative assured that the will to become French “is a beautiful and big decision (…) A serious decision which testifies to your desire to join the national community ”.

An equally important ceremony for France “because our nation will be enriched, by you, your children, your family, your strengths, your culture and your personal experiences”. The sub-prefect went on to say that “becoming French is not just an administrative formality. Becoming French is a fundamental act ”.

“France is an indivisible, secular, democratic and social Republic. It ensures the equality of all before the law without distinction of origin, race, religion, sex. She respects all beliefs, that's secularism ”.

Seven different nationalities were represented during this ceremony. People from all continents such as Argentina, Peru, Russia, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Morocco and Dominica. _RM
