Fatal accident in Grand-Case: The message of condolences from the president, Daniel Gibbs and elected officials from the Community

"After the tragic road accident which occurred in Grand-Case, last Wednesday, causing the death of three young people from Saint-Martin, respectively aged 19, 20 and 31 years old, I would like to address in my personal name and on behalf of the elected officials of the Territorial Council of Saint-Martin, all our condolences and our support for the families of the victims.

It was a terrible head-on collision between two vehicles that claimed three lives and injured three, while last April two two-wheeler accidents had already plunged the territory into mourning. How not to be touched, indignant, in the light of these mown lives and the pain of loved ones facing the worst of trials.

The investigation responsible for defining the exact causes of the accident was entrusted to the Marigot brigade under the authority of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Basse-Terre.

I ask all people who may have witnessed the accident or have reliable information to contact the Concordia Gendarmerie at 05.90.52.21.90 to help the investigation.

This accident reminds that in Saint-Martin as elsewhere, motorists face the same risks and that caution must be exercised in all circumstances. It must make all those who take the road think and encourage them to adopt an exemplary behavior.

I renew my deep condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and send them all our comfort to overcome this painful ordeal. I have a thought for the three injured people to whom I wish a speedy recovery ”.
