Universal National Service: 15 young people from Saint-Martin who left for cohesion at CREPS Antilles-Guyane

This Sunday, June 20, the Prefect, Serge Gouteyron went to Esperance airport in Grand-Case to congratulate 15 young people from Saint-Martin who have chosen to participate in the cohesion stay which will take place from June 21 July 2, 2021 at CREPS Antilles-Guyane located in Abymes in Guadeloupe, as part of the National Universal Service (SNU).

In the presence of the Secretary General of the Prefecture, Mikaël Doré, of the Vice-Rector Michel Sanz, Head of the Department of National Education of the Northern Islands, of the Director of Cabinet Services, Julien Marie and the representative of the regional academic delegation to youth, commitment and sport, Marc Fabre, the Prefect gave a speech highlighting the volunteerism and courage of these young people aged between 15 and 17 years old, as well as the civic values ​​they carry through this commitment within the SNU. A pride for the parents also present but also for these young people from Saint-Martin who will represent their territory during this great adventure, followed among other things, by a mission to the Gendarmerie de la Savane.

The National Universal Service gives, through this cohesion stay, an opportunity to discover a new territory as well as collective life, to create new links and develop the culture of commitment, in order to assert its place in society.
