Zika: a new advance against the virus

0

New research sparks hope against Zika virus. In Texas, American scientists have just created a clone of the virus, according to the journal “Cell Host and Microbe”. This would be a crucial step to manufacture a vaccine and an antiviral against Zika, reports the publication. A clinical trial - for an experimental vaccine - by the American Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NAID) is scheduled for next September.

In Saint-Martin, epidemiological indicators show “a decreasing trend which remains to be confirmed”, according to the Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS). The latest bulletin indicates that 83 cases have been biologically confirmed in the territory.
