Zika: increase in biologically confirmed cases

0

Zika cases are gradually increasing in Saint-Martin, according to surveillance indicators from the Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS).

According to the latest bulletin, 30 cases of biologically confirmed Zika have been recorded, including a pregnant woman. Concerning clinically suggestive cases, the estimate of the number of consultations with general practitioners was 144 as of March 16. Since the start of the circulation of the virus, three emergency visits have been identified. In Saint-Barthélemy, no case of biologically confirmed Zika has been identified to date. As a reminder, this territory is grappling with an epidemic of dengue fever, which makes it difficult to spot cases of Zika.
