A draft decree on the management of end-of-life vehicles (ELV) in the overseas departments has been sent to the Council of State by Ségolène Royal, the Environment Minister announced last Wednesday. This text “perpetuates in regulations the voluntary action plan of car manufacturers to reduce this stock of vehicles in these territories” and “includes provisions to facilitate the handling of ELVs without a gray card and to be able to control insurers' practices in dealing with damaged vehicles ”, according to the Ministry of the Environment. This draft decree follows the recommendations of the report by Martinique's deputy Serge Letchimy, submitted in July 2015, and relating to the dismantling of this type of vehicle. _EH
