With 255 participants, the 5th edition of Saint-Martinoise organized by the Avenir Sportif Club de Saint-Martin was a resounding success this Saturday, March 11, 2017. The pink wave again swept through the streets of Marigot, for the biggest happiness for runners and walkers on the island, but also onlookers in the city.
With this year's godmother Ms. Rosette Lake Gumbs, Vice President of the Community, who wanted to remember that not too long ago, women did not have access to certain competitions, the 2017 Saint-Martinoise held its promises: to promote sport, in a fun spirit!
But it was still a question of competition for some of these ladies because the event record was broken this year by Mobuchon Cécilia of Intergeneration Runners in 20'58, followed by Paines Félicia of l'Avenir Sportif Club in 22'07 and Célestine Sarah in 22'31.
In the individual race category there were two podiums:
Les Misses (under 40)
- Mobuchon Cécilia in 20'58,
- Paines Félicia in 22'07
- Houtsema sarah in 22'36
Ladies (over 40)
- Célestine Sarah in 22'31
- Guerrard Catherine in 24'02
- Vadeleux Sandra in 24'39
In the mother / daughter category 18 teams were involved this year. The Lyonnaises (TSCHIRHART Romane and Pascale) took first place on the podium with a cumulative time of 23'26. The COOKIE team (CHAUVIN Aline and Maelys) comes in second position in 26'30 and 3rd place on the podium goes to the Les Merlettes team (MERLE Magali and Tamara) in 24'50.
For walkers, first place goes to FONTAINE Carla in 41'31, followed by GESBERT Emma in 41'34 and PERONIN Julie in 41'36.
A medal and a diploma were presented to each of the participants, and many gifts offered by the sponsors were won during the raffle.
