A young falcon in distress taken care of by the agents of the SXM Nature Reserve

On Saturday March 19, following a call from a resident of Orient Bay, a young falcon in distress was taken care of by agents of the Saint Martin National Nature Reserve.

Covered in sticky seeds, probably from a fall in the brush, the small raptor was unable to fly.

After resting for observation and a long delousing session, the falcon resumed its flight the same day.

"Thank you to all those who take the time to report wild animals in distress on the French side", underlines the SXM Nature Reserve. "The agents do their best to answer your calls and when possible (technical and regulatory framework), we try to assist these animals".
