As every year, the magazine Le Point publishes its list of the best hospitals in France. At the top of the podium, university hospitals. Sad exception, the SAMU of Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France.

The method of the magazine is quite well established, the relevant criteria even if there will always be people to find fault. Journalists analyze the treatment of 70 pathologies concerning 35 different specialties. To carry out this work, they cross-check data from different health programs and agencies but also questionnaires. The work is completed by a survey

"Consumer" about the response rates to phone calls from French SAMUs. It is in this area that the SAMUs of Pointe-à Pitre and Fort-de-France break a sad record. In fact, only 42.7% of calls are answered at the SAMU in Pointe-a-Pitre and 62.6% on the Fort-de-France side. Note that the first ranks first in a list that scores from worst to best. The second, meanwhile, ranks fourth after the SAMUs in Paris and Perpignan. Fortunately, other structures of our beautiful neighboring islands rank in the best positions and this time in a ranking from best to worst. The CHU of Martinique ranks in 6th place regarding hand emergencies, the CHU of Pointe-a-Pitre was recommended in cases of trauma to the face and finally, we find the Polyclinic of Guadeloupe in Abymes in 43rd position and the Eaux-Claires Clinic in Baie-Mahault in the 49th arrondissement. We cannot always stop at what is going wrong even if it must be emphasized. _NB
