As soon as the containment ended, the construction of the new Guadeloupe teaching hospital resumed. It must be said that the teams, architects and engineers remained mobilized, teleworking to prepare for this recovery in complete safety.
165 workers are already on the job and the workforce is expected to increase to 300 people. The specialist doctors of the CHU helped the actors of the site to define strict sanitary rules: "a helmet, a mask" as well as the installation of numerous hand washing points while adapting the changing rooms and the refectories.
Built to withstand earthquakes and cyclones, the new CHU will be the largest building ever built on the Guadeloupe archipelago. The cost of this equipment amounts to 580 million euros, entirely financed by the State.
