On the weekends of July 28/29 and August 25/26, the Flemming grounds in Bellevue, managed by the Rastafarm, were transformed into an aquatic park. The objective, described by Paul Whit, president of the association, was “to allow the children of the island to forget the memories of Irma while having fun during a family and convivial event With more than one a thousand participants over the two weekends, the event was a resounding success. The association had to acquire inflatable swimming pools and slides in order to create this mobile amusement park. In total, the organization of these two events cost him 96 euros. In addition to a subsidy of 000 euros from the COM, the contribution of private sponsors and the entrance fee (7000 euros), the association received 10 euros in donations from La Fondation de France.

“The event was a great success so we offered to support the association again. But we will not always be in Saint-Martin, so we hope that she will find other support, ”says Karine Meaux, head of programs, among others, at the Fondation de France.

Ultimately, Foundation for Hope intends to deploy the park, on a smaller scale, in the various districts of the island so that the entire population has access to it.
