SOCIAL: RSA: COM requests to locally adapt the payment conditions

0

With twenty votes in favor, the Territorial Council, meeting in plenary session this Thursday, voted for an authorization request to locally adapt the conditions for payment of active solidarity income (RSA) in Saint Martin. This request to Parliament had been made by the previous majority on June 26, 2014 for a period of two years and accepted by the State. It was expired and the new majority wanted to renew it.

Only Alain Richardson voted against; he proposed to write a motion and not to ask for an authorization, which from a legal point of view was not possible explained the president.

If this request is accepted, President Gibbs wants the implementation of the payment by a demonetization of the allowance. The COM had also already asked for it in March 2016, but it was refused on February 8 by the Council of State.

Today, Daniel Gibbs believes that his request is more likely to be accepted since the government has decided to dematerialize its aid to victims.
