A second lawyer, Vaïté Redolat, joined the Saint-Martin victim assistance association on March 1.

Trait d'Union is developing its missions and welcoming more and more victims of criminal offenses. "Thanks to funding from the French Overseas Ministry, we were able to recruit an additional lawyer to meet the growing demand" explains Olivier Fatou, president and director of the association.

To lend a hand to Sibel Aydin, lawyer and deputy director, Vaïté Redolat therefore joined the Trait d'Union team on March 1st. Holder of masters in criminology and international protection of human rights, the XNUMX-something already has a solid professional experience. She worked as a socio-judicial worker in an association to help victims in Savoie. “I was in charge of the“ perpetrators ”section,” explains Vaïté Rédolat, who then carried out personalities and social investigations for the Family Affairs Judge, led internships and acted as a delegate of the prosecutor.

After an interlude in tourism in Bolivia where she perfected her Spanish, the young woman then returned to her core profession and taught general law to BTS students while at the same time leading personalities surveys as an independent for the APCARS (Association for Applied Criminal Policy and Social Reintegration) in Paris. Municipal councilor in the commune of Publier in Haute-Savoie, she was also mandated to carry out a local security diagnosis.

“I met Olivier Fatou during a training course in restorative justice organized by the France Victimes federation in March 2020  and asked him if there was a job for me in Saint-Martin, ”explains Vaïté Redolat. His profile corresponded to Trait d'Union's needs, which is why a few months later, once the budgets had been allocated, the association decided to offer him a fixed-term contract of one year, part-time. She, who did not know Saint-Martin, then went on an adventure, accompanied by her husband and her two children.

Its missions are those of Trait d'Union: listening, providing information and, if they wish, supporting victims of criminal offenses. The new lawyer thus welcomes the victims at the office of the association as well as at the offices and access points to the law on Mondays in Quartier d'Orléans and on Tuesdays at Sandy Ground. She also accompanies the victims followed by the association to the court's correctional hearings on Thursday, as well as on Friday during immediate appearances. (Soualigapost.com)
